Our school is the heart of our community. Together, we can make a difference. We also celebrate collaboration and know that we are stronger when we work with others who share our same vision and passion.
Over many years, we have known the work of Symphony Learning Trust, and built good relationships with them. You'll have seen the increasing number of academies over the last decade, and it is clear to us that working together with a group of schools can benefit our children.
Our Governors have been discussing ways of improving even further and this led to discussions about joining with a multi academy trust.
The priority for us all is to enable our school to continue to provide an excellent education for our pupils, whilst protecting our ethos and identity. We believe by working together more closely with like-minded partner schools, we can achieve even greater things and provide an excellent educational experience in which all our pupils can thrive.
We have looked at a number of trusts, and decided that Symphony Learning Trust is the stand out option for us. They are absolutely focused on ensuring great outcomes for children, but doing so in a way that allows us to retain our identity, culture and curriculum. They work in a collegiate, peer-led approach, retain local governing bodies and promote a sense of doing what is right for each school.
Under this proposal, the school would convert to become an academy that is part of Symphony Learning Trust. Our governing body, therefore, is consulting on whether to become part of Symphony from 1st September 2025.
The consultation is open to all, including the school’s parents, pupils, staff and the wider community. The rest of this website includes some general information about Symphony, including the ethos and vision of the trust.
You can access an online response form via the Have your Say page and there will also be a consultation event where you can talk to us directly. Click the button below for further information.
